Powering Lauderdale's Future
With Solar Power
Our Community has taken a step forward in creating a more sustainable future. With the addition of solar panels on the Lauderdale Community Hall’s roof.
Why We Went Solar
The first reason is with the amount of solar panels we have we will no longer have electricity bills. We will also make money from the excess we generate.
Instead of using natural gas or whatever other means of electrical generation we were getting supplied with, our solar panels are good for the environment, generating electricity from the sun!
This is an improvement to the hall, and we strive to make the hall the best it can be for us and the Lauderdale Community!
Supporting the community is one of our top mandates, and with the ability to not spend as much we can invest in other events, programs, projects, and activities.
We’ve installed 34 Solar Modules and 2 inverters, and our capacity is 21 kWh. With this we’ll be generating the full amount we need and then some. This couldn’t have been accomplished without the support of the lauderdale community, Heather our NRC, The EFCL, the City of Edmonton, and the people from Evalence the company we contracted to install the panels. ![]()

Are you another community league and you aren’t Sure if you can afford to put solar on your hall? There’s a program backed by the EFCL called SPICE that will pay for and do all the work for you. Sounds too good to be true but the way they’re able to accomplish this is by having you finance these panels. All of the excess electricity that gets sold to the grid and makes a profit, that profit will go to paying off your panels. Once that’s been done you then own the panels. You can also pay for a portion of it yourself or through grants so that it doesn’t take as long to start making the profit on any excess for your own league. If this is something that interests you I encourage you to check it out Here.
